The Final Edit

For now...

I can't believe it but I did it again...consigned my laboriously written entry to the ether. There is probably a way to retrieve it, but I don't know what it is. I do at least know what I did this time. I exited the page before it had finished uploading...silly me.

I'm not going to rewrite the whole thing ,just say that although It didn't look good at all where I thought I would put it, my winning choice (because I liked it the best,) was the Finlandia vase from Ittala glass in. Finland. Dana once again saved the day by giving it the spotlight all by itself on the left side of the mantel. In the extra is my small collection of glass birds on top of the low bookshelf in our bedroom. Having collected pottery for years, glass is new to me. I love the way it catches the light and casts shadows.

Three of the birds are designed by Ove Toikka, also for  Ittala glass. The clear one was a wedding present (so it probably qualifies as an antique). I don't know where the blue one came from, and the apple is a doorstop..
