By the fire

There are so many things that are wrong about this fire in my mum's living room, yet I still love it.

They moved to Macclesfield in the late '70's to a new build fake Georgian house made out of reclaimed brick but with no chimney. No need for a chimney with modern central heating.

Therefore, the solution was to buy a fake Georgian fireplace, complete with mantelpiece and fake marble panel covering the flue that was never there.

On the hearth, a two bar electric fire with plastic coal, lit from below by two red bulbs.
