Whoah! What a wet day!

I finally left the house for a walk at half past three, when the rain stopped, and it was lovely to see some blue sky..but only for a short while. Just as well that I was all togged up in my waterproofs.

For the past three days, we have been waiting for a parcel to be delivered by DPD. It should have been here within 24 hours of purchase, but the driver seems to have been unable to find our house, even with my clear instructions, so it has been returned to the sender.

At the beginning of my walk I was coming up to a huge puddle which stretched all the way across the road and a DPD van stopped to deliver a parcel. I stood beside the road to let him drive through the puddle without splashing me, but he stopped and asked if I would like a lift to the other side of it. I gratefully accepted and while I was in his van, I told him about the "undeliverable" parcel. It wasn't him who couldn't find us, but he kept apologising anyway. I do sympathise with delivery drivers and am very grateful to all those who work to such punishing schedules to get stuff to our doors.
