No children

Inset day (although this was taken pre school start time ;-D)

As you are aware Lucy has two rabbits. Lily who lives outside (does come in for cuddles) and Fleur who stays outside during the day (in separate pen) and sleeps in Lucy’s room due to them not getting on. Anyway, last night as Lucy was getting ready for bed she realised Fleur wasn’t eating and on checking her saw she had a swollen eye and blood from her nose. She decided to take her to the emergency vet who said she’d had some sort of trauma as inside her mouth was cut and bruised. He wanted to keep her in to stitch the mouth but Lucy didn’t want to leave her and brought her back home full of drugs.  This morning she decided to drop her off at her vets. They rang Lucy at lunchtime to say her lip had been torn away from her jaw and she will need an op. During the op they also realised whatever had happened (???) had also pierced through her nasal cavity. She is now back home and Lucy has to liquidise her food for a while and hopefully she will recover ok.  The real puzzle is what happened.  We can’t see any sticks or sharp things in her outside pen that could cause this injury, the vet thinks the injury was too severe to be caused by Lily through the pen between them and her pen upstairs doesn’t have anything sharp either. We really are baffled and Lucy’s half term will be spent nursing her.

Happy weekend/half term.
