Purple Gallinule

I went kayaking with a group from Silver Springs.  We put in on Cross Creek, of Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings fame.  Actually the launch is right beside her house which is now a historic site and state park.  We paddled down the creek to Little Lochloosa Lake.  Eagles nest all along the Creek and around the lake.  But I was the most excited about getting a photo of the Purple Gallinule.  I've seen them but never photographed one before.
