Memorial

Went to Toolos today to have a look at the camera club's exhibition which is showing in the shopping centre.
Outside is this fine memorial to the fallen of two wars. The Civil War of 1918 and the Second World War of 1939-45. There are many such memorials throughout the country but this surely must be one of the more striking designs especially when there is so much snow on the ground. The combatants depicted are in winter gear, complete with ski poles and a fallen comrade ready to be removed from the front on a sled as so many were.
