Watched a film called ‘They fought for their land.’ A retreating Russian anti tank brigade on the Don steppe outside Stalingrad from a Mikael Solokohv unfinished novel. Made in 1975. For me a strangely timely reminder (as if I had been there) of the cost of war. A Russian film not without propaganda but it could have been Ukrainians.
