Burnham - On - Sea

We dropped Sophie at school this morning then headed to Burnham for a stroll along the prom and beach as far as the lighthouse, interrupted by breakfast at Wetherspoon’s.

On the beach we bumped into friends from Street who had been doing much the same.

This is the view of the river mouth winding into the bay with Steart Island beyond and the new reactor being built at Hinckley Point in the far distance.

There were a few twitchers on the prom, trying to catch a glimpse of a Kentish Plover, a rare visitor apparently, on the island. We were all treated to a small murmuration of starlings out at sea which was easier to see but too brief to blip.
