Met this chap today

Him and five of his friends. Dug them up as I was cultivating the fruit cage. I relocated them in the already dug area, hopefully that would provide lots of nooks and crannies for them to move into.
I was also fortunate enough to have a couple of long tailed tits hopping and flitting in amongst the nearby bushes. Just watching them brought a smile to my face. In addition there was a male pheasant strutting his stuff. He strolled quite close to me and I was only spotted as he was quite close. Instead of running he just continued the same pace until well past me and then he galloped. Eventful morning
Early PM started to cut the grass!!!!! It was not totally dry but OK for the hand mower. Half way through it rained, quite a lot. Half the lawn looks rather good
