Thruscross Dam

We visited Thruscross about 10 days ago to walk around the reservoir. This morning we returned to take a walking group of some friends around the same walk. Unfortunately, the recent storms Malik and Corrie have brought down quite a large number of trees and left many unstable. As a result, the footpath around the reservoir is currently closed. Instead we walked south down the valley below the dam shown here.
Normally it is difficult to get a good view of the dam from this position, but you can see that the toppling of a large tree in the foreground has made it more visible.

In today's extra you can see some of the damage to the trees just by where the footpath leads around the reservoir. We could hear chainsaws in action as the dangerous trees are being removed.
