Odd Days

Hope

While out running errands 12-year-old son and I picked up what we need for this year's garden. The Saturday of Mother's Day weekend has become do-projects-in-the-garden-for-Mom day. :) Hopefully it will warm up a bit. Some of these we can probably plant next Saturday; others will need some babying. Cucumber, zucchini, watermelon (something new for us to try), pumpkin (traditionally have done very well), basil (mmmm...homemade pesto for the freezer), tomatoes (bush + cherry), lettuce, cilantro (salsa), and yellow sweet pepper (for Mr. Odd Days). I already have 6 blueberries and a half-dozen strawberries and a bed full of cosmos volunteers. No flowers or shrubs or perennials this year; not even to replace the dozen dead shrubs I had to pull due to unexpected death. Concentrating my dollars on interior projects that have been annoying for much too long. Here's hoping for a warm summer and beds full of fresh produce!
