Choices

Much the same as last year we have a fieldfare guarding this particular tree in the garden as it's laden with fruit.

In comparison to his competitors he is quite small, just normal thrush size and he's up against magpies, the jay and blackbirds who all come in  for a tasty snack. Fiesty but really flighty he doesn't always win but in the end always comes back and stays the longest unless of course he's disturbed by me. Trying to sneak into the breeze house with a tripod, lens, and a cuppa without being seen isn't easy but eventually he returns and doesn't seem to bother about the lens peeking out of the canvas at all so long as I move slowly and keep quiet. The jay is far more jumpy and the camera shutter is the devil!
