Lunch Break....
As I think I mentioned before, Mae will be with me during the day most of this week while she does virtual learning until the school re-opens. They had a lunch break from 10:30 until noon, and it looked so nice outside that I bundled her up and we went to Grant Park Beach so she could run around while I took photos. She didn't want the scarf, earmuffs or gloves, but I said either she wore them or we wouldn't go, because it's always so much colder by the water. We weren't there more than 5 minutes when she said she was glad I'd bundled her up because it was COLD! :) (photo in extras).
We had fun in spite of the brisk wind, then rushed back home so I could make her lunch and get her back on the computer by 12:00. At 12:30 I could hear her teacher giving a lengthy talk (in Spanish, so I had no clue) then heard Mae saying goodbye to everyone. She closed the computer and I asked what her teacher had said. Mae said they were done for the day. I said "Are you KIDDING me"?? Mae says "No, grandma, for REAL. We're done". Who the heck gives an hour and a half lunch, and then tells the kids they're done half an hour later. Wouldn't it have made more sense to stay in class for another half hour PRIOR to the lunch break and then just ended the day? Totally illogical. (in my humble opinion).
