Happiness is a retired engineer who puts his skills to good use on maintenance duties at Strathaven Miniature Railway.

A cold damp, drizzly Monday and Tom is in his element, working on an engine with no spark. ‘Coil may be damp’ he said, as he pulled another socket from the box.

The miniature railway has a fleet of engines including the original ‘Margaret’ a steam engine now 72 years old.
