Retiring After 24 Years On Staff......
It was a day of mixed emotions at FBC. The choir filled the loft and joined the orchestra and band in leading the congregational singing, The choir did not sing special music because Aire To The Throne was taking care of that today with a moving performance of "God On The Cross". After the special, Pastor Wes led us back into Philippians, Chapter 3, verses1-11, concerning the righteous church. The only righteousness we have is the righteousness that Jesus purchased for us by coming to earth, living a perfect life and dying on the cross to save us. We cannot earn it by anything good we do. It is given to us by God because He loves us and wants to have a relationship with us. It was an inspiring sermon that you should take the time to watch---it is worth your time to do so. After that came the time to recognize Mike and Sallie Northen. Mike Northen has retired from his official position on our staff after 24 years and today at the end of the service, we recognized him and his wife, Sallie, for all that they have done in our church during that time. Of course, there will be more about all that at tonight's celebration! Looking forward to seeing you there......
