A sociable day

This morning we met the friend I bumped into at the lab on Friday, and her husband, for coffee.  We sat and put the world to rights for over two hours, so a really nice catch up.

It’s the birthday of the husband of another friend today, so we went to dinner at Orbit Restaurant in the Sky Tower, along with the friends with whom we cycled the Alps to Ocean trail. The six of us had a most enjoyable evening. We weren’t able to go to the viewing platform and, as we’d arrived early in anticipation of visiting the viewing platform, our table wasn’t ready, so we went to the bar in The Sugar Club restaurant on the 53rd floor for a drink before dinner. Sadly, the view was non-existent as we were actually in the clouds. When we moved downstairs to Orbit Restaurant on the 52nd floor, the cloud cleared in patches as we revolved so I was able to get a couple of photos.  The blip shows the non-existent view and the two views I was able to capture.  The extra shows our desserts.

There are 208 new community cases today, a decrease on yesterday’s record high of 243.  So, despite my prediction yesterday, a decrease rather than an increase.
