Shoreham Cement Works
The cement works were rebuilt between 1946-1952 to accommodate the rising demand for cement after WWII
Production ceased in 1991 so passers by see windows smashed, crumbling silos and rusting metal work. In fact, I pass it every time I visit my Mum, which I did today. I like the hauntingly emptiness and amazingly a Monkey puzzle tree (?) growing along side.
I remember a school trip around the working cement works, most fascinating and the tea and biscuits were fantastic!
