Catkins

It has been a cold, wet, blustery day so this is an emergency blip, capturing a catkin low down on a hazel shrub near the front door. The catkins higher up are less developed, but this one is already full of pollen. We always have a good harvest of nuts, but the squirrels take them before they are ripe.
