Another bargain buy!
I spotted this flower yesterday but there was no way I was going out to photograph it!
This morning was quite bright and relative dry so I popped out to get a blip. It was still very windy so getting a decent macro shot was quite a challenge.
These were the ones we bought in little cardboard pots f from M & S for indoor use. They were so good we got another pot the following week. Chris has planted both lots out in clay pots and as you can see there are lots coming up. The ones in planted in the garden for many years are showing leaf but no flowers as yet. I wonder if the little pale blue one, Clairette, will appear again this year.
I went to take a closer look at the red Witch Hazel ( Hamamelis) It is flowering but not profusely. It’s still quite small unlike the yellow one which is now tree sized and has been flowering for several weeks.
All lovely to see.
We had a heavy hail shower whilst in church but got home in the dry. Our little flower bed in the front garden is a mini pond again. This never used to happen but seems to happen several times a year now. Combination of climate change and our neighbours cutting down their Leylandis and building a patio near our fence so less rainwater is being taken up by the ground. See a year ago here
A treat tonight, we are going to the church curry night in Bingley, the first time in nearly two years. They did start again before Christmas but either we or our friends couldn’t go. It will be interesting to see if anyone else turns up.
