A right royal occasion
Today marks the 70th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth's accession to the throne.
We celebrated the event in style by gently waving the flag that Mistress Talpa's grandfather waved at Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee in 1897. It is a bit fragile and past its best and being made of crêpe paper it has stretched over the last 125 years with the result that Victoria is looking a bit long in the face. Nevertheless it seems to have survived another waving! It is now safely stored away to await the next big royal event.
