Badlands
painted landscape
of buttes and ravines
badlands
Arriving early for a meeting, I dawdled in the corridor taking a closer look at some of the many Matt Lamb paintings on display. Moving past the colours and shapes I found myself in a landscape of ridges and valleys reminiscent of the North American badlands. At this scale, painting is truly three dimensional.
Lamb died last year, a few months after my nephew Owen shot this film about him at his studio in Ireland. A fascinating man who produced some powerful work.
This painting in full.
