Churning Pacific

We had not been to the coast for months; since the weather looked good, we decided to drive there today. Astoria, the coastal town closest to us, was our first destination, then to Cape Disappointment State Park on the Washington side. Fruitful day of beach cleaning there; then we just sat and enjoyed the wild waves and busy Sandpipers and each others company.
The Sandpipers are in the first extra. The second extra shows the inside of an ancient tree. We were surprised to see the limbs reach all the way to the enter of the tree.
