Chair, Again

After I posted a previous image of this chair, my wife pointed out that she new exactly how it got to where I’d found it. This rocking chair was one of a pair we were given by her grandmother just before our son was born. My wife wanted to use it for nursing, but it was too wide to fit up the narrow stairway of our place. So my wife cut away part of each armrest to narrow the chair. We brought it with us through several moves, and when the seat finally gave way she didn’t have the heart to simply throw it away. So, she placed it out back where it is slowly becoming part of the woods. If you squint your eyes just right you can make out a faint image of her rocking in the chair with our son in her arms, nursing. At least I can.
