"You've come to Halifax for a trip out? Why?
Got up early and had a drive to Halifax for a quick much around. We called in a sandwich shop there, for some breakfast. The friendly lady who served us, asked us where we were from. When we said we had come as 'tourists' she couldn't believe it! We've been plenty of times before, but the Piece Hall was almost empty of the quirky little shops we had expected to find there. Two hours was enough, and we shot off home.
After dropping H off for an afternoon at the cinema with her friends, we tackled a job that we have been putting off for ages. We had bags full of clothes that weren't good enough for a charity shop but I felt could be recycled in a better way than at the tip, so we tried the Cash for Clothes shop. Not a very pleasant experience, but over 40kgs of 'rags' provided £21.00 for our holiday fund, so I'm not grumbling.
5pm, time for H's trampoline lesson. I got off my bum and instead of sitting watching her for an hour, I went for a swim in the pool. Half an hour was enough as I'm very unfit - but I've made a start. Will I do it again next week? I hope so!
This shot is of the wrought iron gates at the Piece Hall.
