Handover
Job done.
The house is stripped, the carpets are up, the remaining bits of rubbish were deposited at the tip and the larger possessions remaining in the house are covered to try and protect them against the oncoming onslaught of dust.
It is over to the builder now. The standard of his work remains to be seen, but he has come up with some good ideas and had another today for removing a soon-to-be unnecessary wall, which will open out the landing area nicely. There’s a long way to go, but I am very excited to watch the house evolve over the coming weeks. I’m also delighted that the children are missing being there.
Aren’t you lot lovely too?! I had an email from a blipper concerned about the building regs situation (already sorted) and a message from a friend offering up a wallpaper stripper (already sorted), but I was curious as to how they thought I had been removing the wallpaper until now?!
Even had some time this afternoon to sort a little more stuff at our temporary home and cook us all a nice dinner polished off with a lemon meringue pie.
Time to rest now.
