Curlew flock

Not my best photo, but I only had my phone with me and they were a little distance away. This definitely merited a photo, though, even if it a rather distant view.

This is just part of a flock of curlew I saw today. I counted just over 30 in this playing field. I've never seen so many curlew in one place before and I was quite taken aback. I spotted them on my way back from a hospital appointment and it fairly cheered me up. More than thirty curlew in one place. In Edinburgh. Amazing!
