Job Interview
I remain on light duties so my activities at the rugby club this morning were limited to barista duties so around 11:00am I headed of for a ‘Job Interview’ as a volunteer on one of the National Maritime Museum Cornwall launches.
Through the EPIC Veterans Gig Club and it’s founder Mike I was put in touch with Paul who has headed their project to restore the steam launch “Emma”. The steam engine has been rebuilt and is thought to be a 1902 design, with a best guess of “Emma’s” build date around the same time.
The plan is for her to go out with passengers initially one day a week during the summer months up the river towards Penryn and back to the Museum via Trefusis. If Paul is unavailable then I will cover as the stoker/engineer out on the water.
I enjoyed meeting Paul and the rest of the team down at the NMMC Workshop and I’m sure I will enjoy the whole experience, the temptation, which needs to be resisted, will be to get sucked in deeper to the volunteering.
Elsewhere it’s been quiet, Mrs S is tired, long shifts after a few days off.
