It’s National Golden Retriever Day

National Golden Retriever Day has only been celebrated since 2012, but the breed has been with us since Lord Tweedmouth developed it in the early 1800’s in Scotland. A good water dog with webbed toes, soft mouth and excellent fetching capabilities was needed in hunting the marshlands. Scout is our 3rd Golden and is best at hunting his dinner bowl and retrieving a tossed ball. National Golden Retriever day may be February 3rd, but for Scout…it’s everyday!
