Mt Fuji

Today we caught the Shinkansen from Tokyo to Kyoto. It's an impressive ride - perfectly smooth, comfortable and quiet at roughly 200mph.

Oh, and the views aren't bad either. It just happens to run right past Mount Fuji, pretty sure that was a happy coincidence.

Got into Kyoto and caught the weather on a local news channel - good news, the blossoms are still in bloom here, the late bloomers such as the weeping cherries at least. With that I headed straight out for a run along the Kamo-Gawain River (using some large stones to get across it at one point) for some fresh air and to enjoy the blossoms that line it. All good, but at 20c I wish I had taken a bottle of water.
