Tools Not Supplied

When a self assembly fireplace tool set comes without, erm, tools, one does wonder why bother, especially when the tools I used to fix it included a pillar drill, a tap & a die, a lathe and the humble file.
There was an M6 thread in the hole in the handle which is supposed to screw onto the main body, which had an M8 thread on both ends (the base was fine). Annoying as feck.
