Cannon

Last day of term and last drop off for a week. Slightly dreading half term and how we will fill our days if the weather is rubbish.

We listened to the news on the radio over lunch about the increased energy cap, inflation and the cost of living, something we are very aware of living on an island. Everything feels tough and uncertain at the moment. I hope I’ll look back in 6 months time and feel some peace with the decisions we make soon. I feel such sadness and despair for families living in fuel poverty who have to choose between being warm or eating.

Here’s a photo of Cannon (the name I’ve decided I’ll refer to my husband as on here, his nickname and the first name I ever knew him by). He’s picking alder cones for me which I’ll be using at my outdoor playgroup tomorrow. I’ve got a village hall meeting tonight, I’m a volunteer on the committee.
