Got them! :) Chilly outside, but nice to get out for a little while. I saw a Woodpecker and a Blackbird. The Blackbird was a skittish one and flew off with an irritate sound, even though it sat high up a tree. :)  
Late last night I was startled when I heard loud banging sounds, five of them. It sounded like gunfire so it was very unsettling. I didn't know what to do, so I waited... then I saw blue flashing lights from a police car. It stopped outside, but then turned around and went again. Then more police cars came, one went in on the carpark on the other side of the building I live in. I thought nooo... don't go in there... because the trouble, whatever it was, would be too close to home. Two more cars came, with flashing lights, one had dogs. One car stayed on the road and a police man and woman got out and walked past my home. I heard the dogs come out, but a couple of minutes later the car with the dogs drove off again. I'd gotten dressed and went outside. I heard them joking around with each other and then they walked off. The police woman said hi to me, but I didn't think of asking her what was going on until it was too late. They all left and I went to bed again. It was really unsettling not knowing, but I thought they would've stayed longer if there was any danger. This morning a friend of mine sent me a short notis from an online newspaper and it said that the noises I (and several others) thought was gunfire, was bangers that's gone of in a staircase, hence the loud noice. It was reassuring to read that it 'just' was bangers, even if those got my heart rate up and my night destroyed.
