Timekeeper not working

It’s a good thing that we don’t rely on the old sundial for our timekeeping because I could count on one hand the number of occasions in January when we had enough sun for the gnomon to cast a shadow on the dial. On the other hand, that would be a perfect excuse for my own poor timekeeping!
The reflection on the dial is the result of the watery film from the rain.
