The Road to Nhill

Nhill is a town in western Victoria, about halfway between Melbourne and Adelaide. Colonial settlers arrived in the 1840s and adopted the place name used by the aboriginal inhabitants they displaced. We spent an enjoyable hour or so there this morning. This is the Post Office, built in 1888, possibly the finest building in town. My title today comes from the delightful 1996 comedy film of the same name. This link is to the film review by David Stratton and Margaret Pommeranz for SBS TV.
