Evol
It was great to be out walking in the mountains again. The day started out chilly but reached 26 degrees by the afternoon, exceptional for the beginning of February. Layers of clothing were peeled off at regular intervals. We walked a circuit from Olette to the medieval fortified village of Evol and then along the other side of the valley to Oreilla which has the sad distinction of the highest percentage death rate of any village in France during the First World War.
