Off on an adventure...................
For the last few days I've been a poorly little collie pup but I'm better now, so Ann promised me that today we would go off on an adventure somewhere. Yay!
Do you want to know where we went?......................... We jumped on a No. 41 bus and went to Cramond. I haven't been on a bus since before Christmas, but as usual, I just settled down in 'good dog mode' until Ann told me it was time to get off.
First we walked along the woodland path beside the River Almond and then we walked all the way along the coast to the River Esk in Musselburgh. We walked solidly for more than four hours and Ann reckons we walked at least 14 miles. Unfortunately our Strava app (that we use to record our long walks) stopped working and then restarted but only recorded 8.23 miles of the walk?!!! How annoying is that?!
I have had the bestest day ever. And what made it even better................ about half an hour into the walk I found a rather lovely red tennis ball. It wasn't manky at all so I carried it for the next three hours. Unfortunately I lost it somewhere in Musselburgh Harbour. Boohooo.
And then after we'd walked up the side of the River Esk for a little way, we had to get two buses home. Fortunately as soon as we got to the bus stop a No 26 came along. By then I was so tired that I just immediately went into 'flaked out mode'. In fact Ann had to wake me up so that we could change buses. Travelled on a No 45 for the rest of the journey and had a 10 min walk home when we got off. Fortunately I had a wee on the way home which means that I can spend the rest of the evening snoozing and I don't have to go out again until bedtime. Living in a 4th floor flat these are things that one always has to consider. Lol!
Oh and just because my human likes to use BLIP as a diary of her life....................
….............When we got home I had snooze time and she went to pick up our car which was having a MOT/service. It needed two new tyres and some alignment thingy and there was a nail in one of the other tyres that needed repairing........... so she's now almost £500 poorer. I hope that doesn't mean I'm going to have to cut down on my treats?
…..........And then, when she was putting all my junk 'essential items' back into the car, she somehow pulled a muscle in the back of her knee when she was trying to get my crate into position. That's what it feels like but do humans actually have muscles in the back of their knees?
She was going to do 'dry February' but obviously needs something to anaesthetise the pain, so is just about to pour herself a glass of wine. Hopefully that will do the trick because she's got a 4 hour shift in 'Wilkies' tomorrow morning and at the moment she can hardly even stand up, let alone walk me or do a shift at work.
Anyway I've had a lovely day and hopefully tomorrow will be better for my human.
