city centre fun
A whole day with my boys. A whole day with both parents present.
It was bliss and made blisser by a visit to the Apple Store on Buchanan St to purchase a yummy new laptop. I finally succumbed to the need for something to do my work on when I'm actually at work. In a weird way it makes me feel even more like a grown up.
Then I had to get a bag to carry it in ... and in the intermediate periods we listened to bagpipes and drums being bashed and thrashed, went for a (oh my goodness I miss Texas) burrito bowl at Pintos, went on the 'little orange train'.
We also went to the modern art gallery off George Square and went into the depths to the library. The last time I was there I wasn't a parent or a resident of Glasgow so I never knew nor appreciated that someone very cleverly put a public library in the basement. It was also great timing that it was story time for young kids. The art in the main hall was underwhelming and depressing. For the record I actually like modern art.
Finished off the day with dinner at Stravaigan - minus the boys of course.
Is this the kind of thing normal people with normal weekends off as families do? Bliss!
