Results of weather in outback Australia

After 11 days I ventured out today, mainly to search for the one brand of food that my very elderly cat will eat. I did find it but was also faced with shelves with this notice. Nothing to do with COVID, but due to heavy rains which have cut off road and rail access to the NT from the south and west. Trucks are having to take a 3,000km detour from Adelaide (our nearest capital city) via NSW and Queensland and that road is also in danger of being cut if there is more rain. The defence are having to do food drops to remote towns.
