A orange glow at Torness
A bit of a catch up on Davids free Christmas things to do, hadn't managed March's due to moving and weather so decided to do it today. By the time we got to Barns Ness and White Sands the rain was chucking it down so picnic in the car while waiting for it to reduce. Walked along towards the lighthouse which was build in 1901 by David Stevenson (cousin of Robert Louis Stevenson). The seashore is a great place for fossil hunting, found one, I think, and if your lucky you could spot the common lizard. We then went a bit further along the coast to Skateraw harbour were there is a walk way around Torness Power Station, looks very Stalin like all concreate and keep out signs. We discovered that we had both been at the same CND protest in the early 80's at the site, strange how you can come so near to each other yet not meet till later. Photo shows nature ( 2 cormerants) meeting help meeting power.
