Spider web

When it rains so heavily at night and then the sun comes up early in the morning, the entire garden turns into a blip-candy shop! I have had so much fun going from pine trees to palm trees, from monkeys to dogs and completely ignoring my poor children. Mind you, they are busy trying to put up the tent which is great fun for them.

The weekend is over, I have a day off today and tomorrow and intend to enjoy myself thoroughly! Today I pick my old-man specs and discuss growing mangoes with Shiru. Tomorrow is a cheese tour and then we are back to work.

For those of you who read the blip about the wedding on Saturday...what fun! Ugandans and Kenyans...a huge cultural collision which ended in a lot of love! The Ugandans brought their bananas, the Kenyans brought their goats and songs from both cultures were sung.

The culmination of the entire ceremony was when the bride and groom were brought in front of friends and family. The bride held part of the raw goat leg, the groom held the other and the knife and was then tasked to cutting it in half (kind of like separating the drum stick from the thigh...for those of you more familiar with foul). Apparently this is not as easy as it sounds and takes a bit of practice but the groom rose to the occasion and severed the leg after a few trial and errors to the ululation of the mothers in the crowd. Ahhh...love in any culture is so exciting.

Have a wonderful day...
