Snowdrop (Galanthus nivalis )

At last, we have Snowdrops.  I have been seeing blips of Snowdrops for what seems like weeks now.   Ours have been well behind everybody else but at last, they have appeared.  I have no idea which variety they are, in fact, I am not sure we planted them, they come up under the Crab Apple tree on the "heap" and I don't remember us planting them.

If last year's Snowdrop purchase is anything to go by we can't possibly have planted them.  We bought some Snowdrop "Polar Bear".  I know it says flowering late winter but as yet there is no sign even of leaves so I suspect they have shuffled off this mortal coil.  For those who are wondering, yes we did buy them "in green" in fact we bought them growing in a pot.
