24cm new snow!!!
Woke up at 10am as the snow plougher came. Jumped into my clothes and run out to make piles for the tractor.
The forecasted snow blizzard, named Valtteri, brought us nice 24cm of new material for our snow games!
My daughter had stayed overnight, but she has been so stressed over her master thesis, that I did not dare to wake her up for the first snow game. After cleaning up my own yard first alone and after breakfast, she helped with cleaning the cars - in the extra - and most of the the yard again. And we also made some public service work together, that is, we cleaed the routes to the bus stop out of snow. The idea came from the neighborhood, as I heard that the old gentleman from our neighbors, who had been cleaning these routes for fun for years, was no longer able to do this job (and housing company has no cleaning service for these routes).
Fortunately, there is also growing young snow ploughers: I promised the two enthusiastic young snow castle builders in the neighborhood to borrow our snow from our yard if they don’t have enough snow for the castle. They can take it freely and there is no need to return any of the snow. They were so happy and came to pick up many loads already :)
Had a nice day.
There was so much snow in southern city too, that we decided to leave my car into our yard, and I drove my daughter home in the afternoon. Reminded like winter conditions again, needed reasonable driving on icy trails and partly in porridgelike snow moving under tyres.
On the way, I shortly visited my son and left a doggy bag of salmon soup for him. Some troubles to find any parking space for the car at first, as snow ploughing equipment had not yet been able to clean near streets. In the end I found a place and I also had a short walk with the poodle Nicke the Wool Boy. He enjoyed the snow so much.
-4c snowing more stuff in the evening. Made a third shoveling job as I got home.
