A day in the life

Malik

Last night Malik, the storm, arrived properly and I was a bit nervous about the huge trees on the back of my house. Luckily they didn't drop any heavy branches on my roof but the ground among the trees looked a mess this morning. The stormy weather has continued through the day and the radio reports on flooding and power failures all over the county, but not my region. Over the years the Swedish electric company responsible for the network, has gradually worked towards not having any aerial power lines but to bury them underground. It has proved difficult and expensive but in the long run will be the right concept to get rid of many powercuts on days like this.

For the first time this year I was working at the theatre in Kalmar. The last Sunday every month the council offers the children of the Kalmar region, and their parents of course, two free films in the afternoon. One for the small children and one for the  older ones. Usually many parents bring their kids to the films but today the storm, and the remaining pandemic restrictions made many stay at home. The ones who came had a great time, as usual.
Todays blip is from the crossing of the bridge, it was actually more dramatic than the picture shows but I had to drive at the same time.

And yes, the Swedish handball team can now call themselves European champions by winning over Spain.
