Driving Lessons

As part of their Christmas presents, the kids were given driving lessons. They are both short of driving age, of course, but these lessons take account of that. The company - www,onboardtraining.co.uk - books out the car park of Hamilton Racecourse, and then their driving instructors teach the kids to drive. And from what we have seen, it seems that these are good, solid driving lessons - instructions in how to adjust everything in the cockpit to suit the kids, where to look before moving off, changing gear, driving through a slalom, etc.

The kids loved it. In fact they had the same present last year, and asked for a repeat this year.

We made an appointment for today, and stood around in the cold as first one then the other of them drove around the car park. The large car park! And I practised some panning. They may not be going as fast as it looks in these pictures, but they were still able to get a reasonable speed up.

This must count as one of the most exciting and enjoyable "educational" presents ever!
