Little Dolphin
Beautiful day, worked a few hours.
Didn’t seem like work though as once again I took my lovely client for a walk along the pier at New Brighton beach.
Absolute bonus of being there at the right time to see two little Hector’s dolphins cruise by. They are a very small size, about half of the common dolphins. They are a protected species, at one stage they were nearly extinct but now their numbers are up in the thousands.
Not seen in all regions of NZ, here in Canterbury is one of their areas.
Not a great pic but there was excitement on the pier!
Just a Covid19 update… we are NOT in lockdown in NZ. I’ve read an article today on Phillip Schofield’s talk on UK morning TV. Made it sound like we are in total desperation here , empty streets etc. No, we are getting more cases each day, around 100 and we are only restricted with numbers at big events. Some summer music festivals have had to be cancelled because of that. We are getting Omicron cases now so we are all trying to keep safe. Going to work as normal.we have free testing facilities open every where , . If you test positive there are longer isolation at home rules.
It’s inevitable that our numbers will rise and Jacinda ( who I still think is doing a good job) is at home now isolating because she was on a small plane this week where another person tested positive. She and other passengers have been tested and are awaiting results!
