Hetty’s
I enjoyed watching the women’s final and men’s doubles final at the Australian Open this morning. So good to see Ash Barty become the first Australian woman to win her home tournament in 44 years, and how brilliant for Collins to reach the final after surgery for endometriosis less than a year ago. And nice to see an all Australian men’s doubles final and for Nick Kyrgios to win his first grand slam title - such a talented player, but who unfortunately self sabotages so much.
This afternoon H, G and I walked at Holt Country Park and the Lowes and popped to Hetty’s for a lovely cuppa. We had to change location to a more local and sheltered spot due to the strong, gusty wind. On the drive back I had to stop before turning left and give way to a pedestrian waiting to cross and go straight ahead, as per the new Highway Code changes introduced today. On the journey out I saw a (male) driver drive on to a pavement and cut up a man pushing a pushchair, in order to get round a bus!
Day 684 / Day 3 Post Plan B (for my record only)
Lung abnormalities have been found in some long Covid sufferers using Xenon gas which scans can detect. Joni Mitchell and Neil Young have removed their music from Spotify over the spread of misinformation on Covid on the platform…..and James Blunt has threatened that he might release new music onto it unless action is taken!!! The ‘partygate’ report is said to be imminent, but it’s not known how much will be redacted to meet the Met Police’s request.
