Holocaust Memorial Day

Today is the commemoration of the day when Auschwitz-Birkenau was liberated. We remember the victims of genocides past and present each year and it is a sombre event in Ely Cathedral. We had a poignant piece of music: 'Prayer' by Bloch played this year by a member of my form accompanied on the piano. Important to keep remembering and learning from the past in the hope that the mistakes of the past are not repeated.
