A walk in the Peak...
...it felt almost "back to normal" after Covid times...
We picked Helen up and parked at Redmires Reservoir and walked from there across the moors and past the grouse butts to our lunch stop ( see extra ).
We had to turf someone out of the little shelter to nab our coffee and cake place ;)
From there we headed up High Neb to the trig point, along Stanage Edge, and back to the car - about 6 miles in all. It was Roy's first outing on a "real" walk for some time...
It was chilly and very windy, but a pleasant day for a walk if you were well rugged up - I wore a hat and gloves for the second half, which is a rarity ;)
The main blip is a derelict waterboard cottage near the beginning of our route.
Back to Helen's for lunch - a hearty soup to round off the outing!
We are now warm and cosy back home and Roy is preparing steak for dinner... what's not to like?
