P for Pasty

We left a foggy Cornwall at about 11.30 this morning and were home for lunch two hours later. A couple of these wonderful pasties came with us. The 'P' on the crust stands for Philips, the shop in Marazion that baked it but it could also stand for 'proper job' or 'pasty'. If you're not familiar with this  traditional food of Devon and Cornwall, it's made of beef skirt, swede (which is called turnip down here) and potato with a little pepper and salt, baked in flaky pastry. It's pronounced 'pass-tee'. I suppose I should tag it for Flour Friday.

We collected Cato from his holiday home or 'prison' as he calls it. I think he's pleased to be back home and is being very attentive this evening.
