Before the gales

A good, long walk round the fields up on the cliffs with Lottie before the gales that are forecast overnight and tomorrow.

More stoat traps have been deployed up there. Hoping to thin out the population before this year's nesting season begins perhaps. There never used to be stoats here, but numbers in Orkney have been rising alarmingly in recent years and we have a lot of vulnerable ground nesting birds.

Edit: just been informed this is a milestone for me! I would have got here a lot quicker, but I have missed a lot of blips over the years!  It's taken me more than 14 years to reach my 11 year total!
